Mr. Zhang was a 12-year-old boy from China that suffered from cerebral palsy. Premature born at 8 months with the weight of 1.9KG, Zhang had suffered from growth retardation. He could sit when he was already 2 years old; stand up with leaning against the wall when he was 3.5 years old; walk with scissors gait when he nearly 4 years old.

After many years’ therapy including surgeries, his condition did not improve as expected. It has influenced his daily life severely. The boy was unable to squat nor go up and down stairs prior to his admission.

Treatment and Procedure:

1. Stem Cell Therapy: 4 Intravenous Injections
2. TCM Therapy: Moxibustion and Massage
3. Rehabilitation Therapy

Conditions after Stem Cell Therapy for Cerebral Palsy

The treatment period was short as the child needed to return to school for study. His abnormal gait and being unable to walk or run straightly were the main problems which bothered him. After stem cell therapy combined TCM for his cerebral palsy, Zhang had received a lot of progress in his step posture. The valgus feet have been improved significantly with decreased muscle tone of lower limbs compared with his prior condition. With enhanced muscle strength at the lower back, he could squat up and down independently. Besides the gait, Mr. Zhang was already able to walk without leaning against the wall and go up and down stairs independently, too. His parents were happy to see their child to go to school and come back to live normally.
